Overheard at the in-laws
Just overheard this conversation at the in-laws while in the bathroom:
Brother-in-law: Take a look at this, feel this.
Father-in-law: I do not want to feel anything of yours.
B-i-l: no seriously, I want you to feel how warm this is.
F-I-L: I don’t care.
B-I-L: just put your fingers in here and see how warm this is.
I really don’t think I want to know what they were talking about.

I saw parts of both of these clips at different times. I knew they were close, but I didn’t realize how close.

Week 2 is complete
It took me 45 minutes to convince myself to get down and do my pushups this morning. Just before I headed up to take a shower though, I talked myself into it, and week 2 is successfully complete.
15 + 15 + 12 + 12 + 20 = 74 Pushups

Pushups Week 1 – Day 2
Day 1 was Monday:
10 + 10 + 8 + 6 + 7 = 41
Today is Day 2, and I tried to weasel myself out of doing today’s pushups because we’ll be in a bowling tournament for work later today. I didn’t let myself off the hook though:
12 + 12 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 54

Linner
We planned on eating a late lunch today so we could eat in Davenport, Iowa with a view of the Mississippi River. We found out, however, that we should not have waited, as there was no restaurants near 80 in Davenport, or the next city, Moline, Illinois. In fact, we didn’t find an open restaurant until a little city called Princeton, 60 miles, and an hour and a half later. Our late lunch worked out to be an early dinner.
We’re back on the road now, heading for Merrillville, Indiana.
Heavy Fog Advisory
We’re driving under a heavy fog advisory and it is thick out here. It makes me wonder though where the fog comes from here? With all this land and no big lakes I wonder if it rolls in off the rivers, being between the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. Looks like I have something to look up to pass the time. Or not, depends on how bored I get.
Side note: Speaking of rivers, II did not know until yesterday that the Missouri River is longer than the Mississippi, even though it is a tributary of it. Learn something new every day out here on the road.
Day 4
Day 4 of theInLaws Move is underway. We just left Omaha and are heading for Merrillville Indiana, which is just on the other side of Chicago tonight. We’ve been lucky enough to this point to not hit any rain, but I think we may be testing that luck today to see if it will hold.

Dog Vs Cat
We don’t have a dog. We do have two cats though. One is a skiddish, but friendly cat. The other is an attack cat. More like a thug than anything else really. She belonged to theBrotherInLaw. When he moved to Michigan we took her in and she has repayed the debt by terrorizing my cat. She hunts her down and chases her around the house at all hours of the night. She’s even gone so far as to come into our room and attack my cat while she’s sleeping on our bed early in the morning. But my cat doesn’t fight back. I think she’s getting tired of bullying my cat. She’s moved onto theNextDoorNeighbor’s dog. theWife got video:

Friday Update
A quick update for you, my friends, on this day. A day I can look forward to endless number crunching, yet again. But there’s light at the end of this tunnel that I call today. The budget will be completed by the end of this day, and the people will rejoice. Well, at least for the next two weeks, until corporate comes out to review (scrutinize) our budget.
GMail: It appears as though they didn’t just give me one invite this time…I now have 5 more to give away. Let me know if you want one by writing an essay, not to exceed 10,000 words, on your need for a GMail account. Or you could just say, Hey….give me one.
Fantasy Football: I still need more teams. What are you waiting for. It’s fun and free. Where else can you have fun for free. Sign up today and I’ll set up the draft to auto-pick this weekend. Go to the game front page, click the “Sign Up Now” or “Get Another Team” button and follow the links to “Join a Custom League”. When prompted, enter the League ID# (367921) and password (bmg).
School: Next week my kids start school again, and so do I. I’ve got three classes on my schedule this semester, which should keep me busy, one of them is completely on-line at least.
Smoking: Still not doing it. It’s officially been 27 days, 5 hours, 36 minutes and 17 seconds since Marcy or I have had one. It’s been over a month since we’ve bought a pack. Days like I’ve had this week make me wish I still did smoke at times. Not becuase I crave the cigarette, I haven’t craved it for two weeks now, but because it gave me an excuse to take a break. I had to. Now, at least this week, I crunch numbers into this budget that we’re preparing all day long, without even realizing what time it is.
Tomorrow: We’re taking Michael (and the whole family) rafting for his birthday, which is next week. I’d love to get some pictures of the even and post them up for all to see, but I think I’ll be leaving the camera behind for this one. Without this, I don’t feel like taking the chance of dropping it in the river. Maybe I’ll pick up a disposable one, you know one of those things with that stuff they called film, to record the event.
Well, I think that’s it. Have a nice Friday and a great weekend.

GMail
I have another GMail invite to give away if anyone would like to try it. I think I’ll give it to the first person who comments with one really good reason why I should give it to them.
