A Better Rabbit Cage

Yesterday morning started off like any other day in theHouse of theMike and theFamily. We woke up, looked out the windows, and theElderSon noticed this:

Then we knew we would have a good day. Saturday night, as I lay in bed, groggy from the effects of a heel to the back of the head by theMiddleChild (story another time, but not intentional), theWife and theKids got a start on the next day’s project:

Nic Cube

theWife had been getting sick of how theRabbit’s current area had been taken up space in her morning room. So she did a some googling and came up with the idea to build a better Rabbit cage using nic cubes. All we had to do Sunday was tighten down the zip ties and build the frame. I don’t mean to brag, but I think we did a bang up job. Don’t you?

Hi, I was wondering where you found the info on how to build that rabbit cage! It looks really awesome! Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi Jamie,

The design for the rabbit cage came directly from my wife’s head. There was no design, just imagination. Sorry.

I will say it was very easy to set up, and all we used were wire storage cubes, a few dowels, plywood, carpet square and linoleum from our extras on the bottom.

    Good luck.

That’s brilliant!!! Santa is bringing a guinea pig to our house this year and I was looking for ideas like that. Did you put the lanolium directly on the cubes? If so, how did you prevent chewing or did you? Love it!

  4. theMike says :

The linoleum is glued to the wood on the bottom, not directly on the cubes. The bunny doesn’t chew it up at all.

I actually built this cage for my lionhead bunnies (got the idea from a friend), it is SO much better than any cage you can purchase from the pet stores. And might I add so much cheaper!!!!
