Don’t Ask, I Don’t Know
Warning: A four and a half hour plane ride may cause the mind to wander to destinations unknown. Riddle me this:
Two individuals are born on the same day, at the same exact time, both in the eastern time zone. Person one stays in the eastern time zone but person two moves to the west coast (pacific time zone). Since the pacific time zone is three hours behind the eastern time zone, would person two be three hours older, on any day at any time, at noon for instance, than person one would be on the same day at exacty the same time?

Lost in Translation
I’ve often heard that man is a direct descendent from monkey, and now I know that it’s not true, at least not directly. On Thursday Breanna had a class field trip to a local area zoo and my wife went with as a chaperone. Of course the camera went with her and Marcy snapped off some great pictures which I’ll throw up here as soon as I get the chance. As I was flipping through the pics she took, however, I came across this interesting picture and had to share. You may ask me why? I guess it’s the same reason that you taste something awful and turn to your spouse or friend and say, “That tastes terrible, here taste that”. It’s a train wreck, and you can’t stop looking. Have a good weekend.

Now You Know
As most of you may know, I’m a transplant Californian. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. Ok, I may not have matured there, but physically, I have not grown since leaving so I can truly say that is where I grew up. In Cleveland, when you go to a restaurant and want something to drink, you order a pop. That is not true in many parts of the country however. If I were to walk into a restaurant out here in California, and try that, I would get very strange looks. And what about traveling…what do I order and when you may ask. Click on the map to the right to find out. Let’s dig a little deeper though shall we?
soft drink
n. In both senses also called soda pop, also called regionally cold drink, drink, pop1, soda, soda water, tonic.
- A nonalcoholic, flavored, carbonated beverage, usually commercially prepared and sold in bottles or cans.
- A serving of this beverage.
So, there you have it. Now noone can plead ignorance for ordering the wrong type of drink. So tell me, where are you from, and what do you order?

Tongue Twisters
On the way home from a trip to the store, Marcy, the kids and I were all attempting to annunciate a few tongue twisters that we could remember. Remember folks, I am a professional so please do not attempt these at home. Any attempts to do so may be pernicious.
- How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?
- Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. How many pickled peppers did Peter Piper pick?
- Rubber baby buggy bumpers (five times fast).
- She sells sea shells by the sea shore.
- Toy boat(easy til you try to say it five times fast.
Have I left any out?
